SAHMRI 2020 Work Experience Program

SAHMRI provides work experience as an opportunity for participants to gain an understanding in health and medical research and the transformation of research into health outcomes. The SAHMRI work experience program has been developed for students to work in and be exposed to a variety of research programs and Themes, such as Aboriginal Health Equity, Heart and Vascular Health, Cancer, The Hopwood Centre for Neurobiology, SAHMRI’s Mass Spectrometry Core Facility, Research Support Services and the ANZDATA Clinical Registry.

We are offering a limited number of students from Australian high schools who are currently undertaking Year 11 or Year 12 the opportunity for a work experience placement. You will gain a practical understanding of the different types of work in our research areas, which may help you when making your career decisions.

SAHMRI will be running three work experience programs in 2020. Each program is of 1 week duration. Please note that due to a public holiday program one will be a four-day program from Monday 6th April – Thursday 9th April. During this program students will spend time with the Aboriginal Health Equity Theme, Research Support Services Mass Spectrometry, Histology and Cryogenics, and the ANZDATA Clinical Registry. If you have a strong interest in our Precision Medicine or Lifelong Health Themes, please apply for programs two or three.

  • Program Two: 22 – 26th June 2020
